Evaporative Cooling And Port-A-Cool®
Port-A-Cool is an amazing new product, fully developed in 1992, which offers many exciting versatile options for cooling when standard air-conditioning may be unavailable, impractical or cost prohibitive. It operates at a 10th of the cost of conventional air-conditioning and is capable of cooling thousands of square feet 20 degrees or more, saving Port-A-Cool customers hundreds, or even thousands of dollars per season!Since Port-A-Cool is a state of the art, high efficiency, portable evaporative cooling system, its high efficiency cooling media coupled with a unique housing design, allows Port-A-Cool to cool effectively in very high relative humidity conditions. Conditions that no other portable evaporative cooling device, such as a “swamp cooler” could possibly approach. Since, as its name implies, it is portable, Port-A-Cool can be easily moved around shops, factories, back yards, sporting events and hundreds of other areas for maximum effectiveness, comfort and increased productivity.Port-A-Cool uses a specially designed ridged cooling media, contained in a properly designed housing to insure effective direction of the air over the water saturated media at the proper air velocity. The effectiveness of Port-A-Cool is best appreciated when the temperature is above 95° F. and below 75% relative humidity. Each Port-A-Cool model has a single piece roto-molded housing constructed of very durable cross-linked corrosion free polyethylene.A strong galvanized steel fan is driven by a powerful 1 HP motor (48″ model, 1/2 HP motor (36″ & 24″ models) and a 1/4 HP motor (16″ model) totally enclosed and air cooled. The water supply is controlled by a float valve and completely submersible self-priming 1/6 horsepower pump. PVC and ABS plastic plumbing parts create a simple internal design which stays practically corrosion free. Easily replaceable, long lasting, resin-impregnated KÜÜL™ kraft paper cooling pads allow access to all internal parts. A lot of folks have an initial tendency to relate Port-A-Cool with the term, “swamp cooler”. In reality, the only thing that they have in common is that they are both evaporative type coolers, much the same as a 1949 model automobile and a new 2003 automobile, are both cars. One uses a lot of gasoline and travels slow, the other can travel at high speeds of over 100 M.P.H. Which is more efficient today?
| The key to efficient evaporative cooling is using a specially designed, high efficiency, rigid cooling media contained in a properly-designed housing to ensure effective directing of the cold air over the water-saturated media at the proper air velocity. Port-A-Cool®, and ONLY Port-A-Cool®, has incorporated all of these features and MORE. The unique patented design of Port-A-Cool®, coupled with its high efficiency rigid cooling media, allows Port-A-Cool to cool effectively in very high relative humidity conditions, conditions that no other portable cooling device, such as the old style “swamp cooler”, could possibly approach.

When you consider the efficiency of a single PORT-A-COOL® unit, as compared to how many “swamp coolers” it would take to match one Port-A-Cool®, it even costs less to purchase Port-A-Cool®! And, the daily cost to operate a Port-A-Cool® is only 50¢ (based on a national average of water and electricity cost). |
Port-A-Cool® is an amazing portable cooler, fully developed in the summer of 1992, which offers many exciting versatile options for portable cooling when standard air-conditioning may be unavailable, impractical or cost prohibitive. Most people sleep better, enjoy activities and work with more productivity when the temperature is pleasant. Port-A-Cool® provides air that makes you comfortable at work or at play. Since, as its name implies, it is portable, Port-A-Cool® goes with you in the yard while doing landscaping or gardening and in the garage for cooling home projects
| It has been proven to companies for many years that productivity is increased substantially when workers in offices and factories have an air-conditioned environment to work in. The same is true for athletes in training, construction work, and numerous other outdoor jobs. | |
Working in a cool environment improves the efficiency of workers. Employees stay more alert and become less tired. They make fewer mistakes and work more safely. Since productivity and sales are increased, employers benefit greatly by having a Port-A-Cool® at the job site. Up to 57% increase in worker productivity has been documented due to the employers adding Port-A-Cool® to a facility! |
Port-A-Cool is not a “swamp cooler”! |
Most people feel comfortable when the air temperature is between 72° F. (22° C.) and 78° F. (26° C.). The evaporation of moisture from our skin helps cool our bodies. Port-A-Cool® is an elaborate cooling system capable of cooling thousands of square feet by as much as 20° and operates simply on electricity and water at a fraction of the cost of standard air-conditioning. |
Save 90% or more on the cost to cool your facility, warehouse, factory, auto repair shop, tennis court, stadium sidelines, practice field, laundry, kitchen, outdoor swimming pool, assembly line, garden, home garage workshop, golf driving range or any number of areas where cooling is needed, however, was too expensive. Now, thanks to Port-A-Cool® you can cool those “impossible” areas! |
The WayCool portable evaporative cooler with greater cool air output, smaller size, lower cost and better looks. On a typical hot day, the air leaving a WayCool is 20°F cooler. Use WayCool portable evaporative cooling fans to cool almost any area - indoor and out!
